GREENHOUSE PREPARATION
  • Level and smooth the greenhouse floor.
  • Cover the greenhouse floor with white plastic to discourage algae and weed growth, aid in effluent removal and reflect light on to crop.
  • Clean equipment and footwear with bleach to prevent soil borne diseases.
  • Level and position slabs on greenhouse floor. Add nutrient solution (5.0 to 5.2 pH) to slab using drip emitters placed at block holes. Apply solution until slab sleeve bulges with excess solution. Let soak for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Place blocks with started crops on top of slab. Cut hole in bottom side of slab facing drainage ditch for solution run off.
